Pick Toby if

If you organize links with a team in shared spaces, tag them, or want your saved tabs on your phone, Toby is built around that, with a board on every new tab, a web app and iOS and Android apps.

Switching from Toby?

Bring what you have

Each Toby collection as a saved session, with every tab's address and title.

  1. In Toby, export your collections as a JSON file.
  2. In Pagewing, open Sessions on the web, press Import and drop the file.
  3. Check how many sessions and tabs it found, then import. The free plan keeps 25 sessions, and the importer fills those first and says how many didn't fit.

Questions

Is Pagewing cheaper than Toby?

Not on its own. Toby Productivity costs $6 a month billed monthly, or $4.50 a month billed yearly, and its free Starter plan holds up to 60 saved tabs. Pagewing's free plan holds 25 sessions with no cap on how many tabs are in them, and Premium, which removes the limit, costs more than Toby but also covers the screen recorder, PDF editor, screenshots, short links and the other tools. Use the calculator above with what you actually pay.

Can I import my Toby collections?

Yes. Export your collections from Toby as a JSON file and drop it into Sessions on the web. Each collection becomes a saved session with its tabs, and you see how many it found before anything is saved. OneTab and Session Buddy exports import the same way.

Does Pagewing replace my new tab page like Toby does?

No. Pagewing lives in Chrome's side panel and on its website, and leaves your new tab page alone. Open the panel to save or restore a session, or the Sessions page to manage them all.

Where are my sessions kept?

Sessions you save are kept in your account, so every browser you sign in to has them, and signing out, updating or reinstalling Pagewing doesn't delete them. The panel shows when they were last backed up. Automatic snapshots of your open windows stay on your computer.

What happens if Chrome crashes?

Pagewing saves your open windows automatically, so you can bring back whatever was open when Chrome closed, even if you never saved a session. Toby saves what you put in a collection.

Can I share a session with someone?

Yes, with Premium: a session becomes a link that lists its tabs, which anyone can open. On any plan you can export a session as OneTab text, Markdown, a bookmarks file or CSV and send that instead. Toby shares collections on its free plan.

Does restoring 80 tabs freeze Chrome?

No. Big restores open their tabs unloaded, so they load when you click them, and you can restore into a new window or the current one. Pinned tabs come back pinned and, if you allow it, tab groups come back as groups.

Is Pagewing free?

Yes. Every tool works on the free plan, with a few limits. Premium removes the limits and adds features like share links, PDF signatures and cloud storage, for every tool at once. Pro adds Office conversions, bookmark cleanups and AI summaries and branding for recordings on top. You only add a card if you decide to upgrade.
