Switching from Omnivore

Omnivore closed. Bring your library and highlights home.
One subscription for the whole stack.

Drop the .zip you exported from Omnivore into Pagewing and your saved links come back with their labels, reading progress, highlights and notes. Save new articles from any page, highlight as you read, and listen to them or get a summary, in the same Chrome side panel as your other tools.

Every tool has a free planImport free, up to 250 articlesPremium from $20/month, no free-plan limits

Who it's for

Made for you if…

  • You exported your Omnivore library before it shut down, and kept the .zip.
  • You highlight as you read and want those highlights next to the article again.
  • You'd rather keep your reading list in a tool you already pay for than in yet another app.
Bring your data

Move from Omnivore to Pagewing

Omnivore's export is a .zip with your saves listed in metadata files and your highlights as Markdown. Pagewing reads each save's address, title, author, description, the date you saved it, its labels, whether you'd archived it and how far you'd read, and each highlight with its note.

  1. Find the .zip you downloaded from Omnivore. Leave it zipped: Pagewing reads it as it is.
  2. Open Read later in Pagewing on the web, press Import and drop the file.
  3. Check the preview (how many links, archived, labeled and highlighted), then import. Links you've already saved are skipped.

What comes over

  • Every saved link, with its title, author and description
  • Your labels, as tags
  • Archived items, kept in your archive, and how far you'd read
  • Your highlights and the notes on them

What doesn't

  • Article text: imported saves arrive as links. Open one and save it from the extension to keep its text for the reader, where your highlights find their place again
  • Newsletters and RSS feeds: Pagewing saves web pages, not subscriptions
  • PDFs you'd saved in Omnivore
Import your Omnivore export You'll see what comes over before anything is added.
What to expect

Read later in Pagewing, next to Omnivore

Where Pagewing is as good or better, and where it's different. Where Omnivore does more, we say so.

Different

  • There's no phone app: Pagewing runs in desktop Chrome, and your list is on the Pagewing website too.
  • No newsletter inbox or RSS feeds: it's for the pages you save.
  • The free plan holds 250 articles, imports included. A longer list needs Premium.

Questions

Something else? Write to us from the Contact link below.

Can I still export my data from Omnivore?

No. Omnivore's team joined ElevenLabs in late 2024 and the hosted service shut down that November, along with the data left in it. If you downloaded your export before then, that .zip imports here.

Do my highlights come over?

Yes. Highlights and their notes come in with each article. They show in the Highlights view straight away, and on the article once you save its page again from the extension, so Pagewing has its text.

Do I need Premium to import?

No, importing is free. On the free plan Pagewing brings in the first 250 articles; Premium keeps them all, and importing the same file again after upgrading adds only the missing ones. Saving, reading, highlighting, listening and exporting are free too.

Is Pagewing free?

Yes. Every tool works on the free plan, with a few limits. Premium removes the limits and adds features like share links, PDF signatures and cloud storage, for every tool at once. Pro adds Office conversions and bookmark cleanups on top. You only add a card if you decide to upgrade.
