Is Pagewing cheaper than Readwise Reader?

Readwise has no free plan: after a 30-day trial, the Full Readwise plan with Reader costs $12.99 a month billed monthly, or $9.99 a month billed yearly, and Reader on its own $7.99 a month billed yearly. Pagewing's reader is free for up to 250 saved articles, and Premium removes that cap along with the limits of every other tool, so it pays off when you also pay for a PDF editor, a screenshot tool or a link shortener. Use the calculator above with what you actually pay.

Can I highlight any web page, like in Reader?

Yes. Select text on any page and pick one of five colors from the bubble, or use the right-click menu. Highlights are saved with the article, show again when you return to the page, and appear over the saved copy in the reader and in the Highlights view on the website. Notes on highlights come with Premium.

Does Pagewing read articles aloud?

Yes, free. Listen reads a saved article with your browser's voices at the speed you choose, following along paragraph by paragraph. Readwise Reader has its own text-to-speech voices, including on its phone apps.

Does it summarize articles like Ghostreader?

Yes. Ask for a summary of any saved article, ask it a question or have a passage explained, and the answer comes from the article's own text. Each answer uses one of your daily AI requests, shared with the AI writer; Premium raises the daily number.

Can I import my Readwise Reader library?

Not from Readwise's own export yet. Pagewing imports Pocket, Omnivore and Instapaper exports, bookmark files and CSV files, so a CSV of your Reader links with a URL column comes in as saved links; open one and save it from the extension to keep its text for the reader. On the free plan the first 250 articles come in; Premium keeps them all.

Does it handle PDFs, newsletters and RSS feeds?

No. Pagewing's reader is for web pages and links. PDFs open in Pagewing's PDF editor instead, which annotates, fills, signs and organizes them, but it isn't a reading queue. Readwise Reader keeps PDFs, EPUBs, newsletters and feeds in one inbox.

Is my reading list on my phone?

There's no phone app. Your list lives on the Pagewing website, which opens on a phone browser, but saving and highlighting happen in Chrome on a computer. Readwise Reader has iOS and Android apps.

Is Pagewing free?

Yes. Every tool works on the free plan, with a few limits. Premium removes the limits and adds features like share links, PDF signatures and cloud storage, for every tool at once. Pro adds Office conversions, bookmark cleanups and AI summaries and branding for recordings on top. You only add a card if you decide to upgrade.
