The best email tracker extensions for Gmail

Mailtrack is a simple way to see when a Gmail email is opened; its free plan has no limit on tracked emails but records only the first open and adds a line to your signature until you pay. HubSpot's free extension tracks without a cap and suits anyone who wants a CRM behind it. Streak is for people who run a sales pipeline from Gmail. Yesware fits sales teams that want campaigns and templates too. Right Inbox and Boomerang are about scheduling and reminders, with tracking on the side. Pagewing suits someone who wants every open recorded for free, with no signature ads, and pays for other browser tools.

We looked at the email trackers people install for Gmail in Chrome, read each one's pricing and feature pages in October 2026, and weighed what the free plan tracks, whether the tracker adds anything to your emails, how opens are reported, link tracking, reminders and the price of the first paid plan billed monthly.

Which email tracker is free for Gmail?

Mailtrack, HubSpot Sales, Streak and Pagewing track emails for free without a cap on how many. Mailtrack's free plan records only the first open and adds a line to your signature; Pagewing's records every open and adds nothing. Right Inbox tracks 5 emails a month free and Boomerang gives 10 credits a month. Yesware's pricing page describes its free plan as free forever in one place and as a 14-day trial in another.

How does email tracking work?

The extension adds a tiny invisible image to each email you send. When the recipient's mail app loads it, the tracker records an open with the time and, where it can, the device and mail app. Links can be routed through the tracker the same way to count clicks. Mail servers, security scanners and privacy features like Apple Mail's can load the image too, which is why some trackers, Pagewing among them, filter those out or mark them as possibly automatic.

Do email trackers add anything to my emails?

Some do on their free plans. Mailtrack adds a signature line until you pay; Pagewing adds nothing visible on any plan. Every tracker adds the invisible tracking image itself.

Which tracker works in Outlook too?

Mailtrack (as Mailsuite), HubSpot Sales and Yesware have Outlook add-ins, and Boomerang sells a separate Outlook product. Streak, Right Inbox and Pagewing work in Gmail only.

Can I get a reminder when nobody replies?

Boomerang's response tracking, Right Inbox's reminders and Pagewing's no-reply reminders (Premium) all do this. Mailtrack has custom alerts on its Mailsuite plan, and HubSpot and Streak handle follow-ups through sequences and pipeline tasks.

Is Pagewing free?

Yes. Every tool works on the free plan, with a few limits. Premium removes the limits and adds features like share links, PDF signatures and cloud storage, for every tool at once. Pro adds Office conversions, bookmark cleanups and AI summaries and branding for recordings on top. You only add a card if you decide to upgrade.

Try Pagewing next to what you use now.

Every tool works on the free plan, so run it alongside the app you have, then keep whichever you still need.
